A Birth Announcement

Remember when a new mom purchased a box of birth announcement cards from a local card shop? Now you choose templates, cute themes, enter birth information, and wow your friends with your creativity.
God is always ahead of our feeble attempts. When His Son was born, He enlisted His angelic choir. He found a hillside and stunned some shepherds. He brought a great light. He shared an unmistakable sign. When God announces something, He does it so big and so simple and so obvious that only those who are open to the character of God will recognize the world-changing announcement.
Today, people still struggle over this birth announcement. It was too unnatural. It was too unbelievable. It was to the wrong people. It was in the wrong place. Only those with hearts open to the character of God can accept it. Only those who understand that God himself, with omnipotent wisdom and eternal love, announced the birth of the Savior of the world in such a way that we have to find a kneeling place in order to believe it.
