Romans 12:1-8

“Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most.” That statement, by Mark Twain, may actually be true. The Unclaimed Baggage Center retail store in Scottsboro, Alabama covers a city block and hosts over 1 million shoppers annually. At least 7,000 lost and unclaimed items are stocked each day.* Just a few of the most unusual unclaimed belongings include a live rattle snake, a 5.8 carat diamond hidden in a sock, and a full suit of armor which was a 19th-century replica.**

It would be tragic, if in the face of temptation, we had to say, “Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my armor the most.” Unclaimed armor leaves us vulnerable. It is the helmet of salvation that transforms our thinking. Salvation is looking back to recognize God’s forgiving grace and healing but it is also looking ahead to discover new strength and courage to stand when tempted.*** We claim Christ as Lord and do His will!
