Is That True?

Proverbs 11:23-31
Do you believe like it says in Proverbs 11:25 that “a generous person will prosper”? Some might respond, “Yes, generally that is true. After all, good things happen to good people, right?” Another might add, “My parents were generous people. They always paid their tithes and offerings to the church, and they helped the poor when they had opportunity. They never had a lot, but they always had enough.” Someone else might interject, “I saw a report that the poorest people give nearly twice as much of every dollar they earn to charity than the richest.”
One day Jesus watched a line of people contributing to the temple treasury, “Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins.” Jesus called his disciples and said, “This poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything–all she had to live on” (Mark 12:41-44). It seems that, in Jesus’ eyes, generosity and prosperity are not measured by the quantity but the quality of the gift.

Matthew 6:31-33 appears to be true in my life.
We help ourselves by first getting to know what Jesus would have us to do (which would be the right thing). We have to get ourselves right before are really working for His Kingdom. If we’re not right, the wrong kingdom prospers because of the hypocrisy and wrong example that’s brought forward.
