John 10:22-30
Recently, I had a friend give me the sweetest compliment. She said my son reminded her of me because we have the same mannerisms. I concluded it’s because we spend so much time together.
Have you ever wondered what God looks like? I have. In Genesis it says we were made in his image. So what is his image? The New Testament gives us a clue when Jesus said, “If you knew me, you would know my Father also” (John 8:19b). Since Jesus is God’s son, we can assume that they resemble one another, similar to how my son resembles me.
If we are Christians, then we are also God’s sons and daughters. The very word Christian means “christlike.” Spending time learning about Jesus will help us to resemble God. First John 1:7 tells us if we walk in the light (Jesus), then we, too, are light.
I’m going to continue drawing closer to him because just as my son reflects me to others, I want others to see Jesus’ reflection when they look at my life.
