Please, Let There Be Light

Job 24:13-25

Ever go horseback riding in the pitch dark? I have. I don’t recommend it. The day started out fine. We were on a trail, riding through the jungle of Guatemala. It was daylight, all was well. But on the return trip, time ran out and so did the light. There was no moon, and the jungle began to close in around us. Not fun. In fact, it was scary and dangerous. The horses were nervous; the riders were even more nervous. Frankly, it was awful. I never want to do that again.

I also do not ever want to knowingly rebel against the light God sheds on my path through life. Still, there are those who do rebel against the light. They do not stay on God’s path. Their wandering is beyond dangerous. It could be disastrous. The path of life is littered with obstacles, even people, who would try to rob us of our relationship with God.

Allow God to light your way each day. He will show you the obstacles and dangers. He will direct your path. He will not fail you.
