His Loving Kindness

The most profound theological truth is “Jesus loves me.” That’s the basis of our Christian faith. God’s unconditional, holy love is constantly expressed in our lives and in the lives of all God’s creation.
A lady kneeling at the altar in the church service was struggling to release herself to God and take the step of faith to follow him. I knelt with her and tenderly said, “Jesus loves you.”
Through her tears, she looked up. Her countenance changed from despair to joy. She said, “I can believe that, can’t I?” Absolutely.
Our salvation is not about us, it is about Christ. Therefore, it is not up to us. “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).
There’s not one thing we can do to make God love us more, or one thing we can do to make God love us less. Jesus loves me!
