Help!

January 8th, 2012

RG AUDIO 010812Psalm 28

At a wedding someone had painted the word “HELP” on the soles of the groom’s shoes so that when the bride and groom knelt for prayer in the ceremony the sight of the word on the soles of the groom’s shoes would be humorously obvious. And, that it was.

This is no comparison to the psalmist’s situation. There was no humor, only desperation. His enemies were wicked and hypocritical. Still, help came. Then the psalmist breaks out in praise to God. Have you been there? Desperation! Prayer! Help! Commit! Trust! Praise!

She endured long, sleepless nights. Her hard, sincere work went unnoticed. This employee thought she couldn’t take the neglect any longer. She went away to pray in the splendor of God’s creation. At 2:00 o’clock in the morning, she surrendered her situation to God and trusted his “help.” Her attitudes changed, wrongs were made right, relationships were healed, she trusted and was helped.
