Too many times current headlines read like the first part of Psalm 10. The disenfranchised suffer oppression from the strong. The unscrupulous get ahead. Lying appears to help people more than honesty. And to make matters worse, it looks like God just lets it happen.

Our broken world will always have inequities that God did not create. To blame him ignores his true character. Instead, we need to look into the all-seeing eyes of God and trust that he sees what we cannot. Just because God takes his time to bring about justice doesn’t mean that he does not care about what is happening. We need to make sure that we don’t let the ungodly skew our perspective into believing something that is untrue about God. We must balance the true character of God against what we see in our unbalanced world. Then, we can live through the inequities, sharing compassion and proclaiming the Good News that frees people trapped in their own devices.
