Pray Constantly
May 16th, 2011
Luke 11:1-13
In an age of scientific and technological conquests, Christians seem to be too busy to pray. Everyone is busy looking for instant satisfaction, climbing the socioeconomic ladder, and meeting daily challenges. Prayer is put on the back burner of our lives. An active and consistent prayer life has become a challenge. We know the importance of prayer, but time and desire to pray are diminishing in too many churches, homes, and lives.
Too often our prayers are foggy and vague. Some people pray only in time of emergencies. When they don’t receive the expected response, they say it does not work. The purpose of prayer, however, is more than receiving answers and fulfilling religious duty. It is the essence of the Christian life.
A consistent, active prayer life will help us to have a better understanding of who God is, what God can do for us and in us daily.
