Psalms 133-134

On Pat’s office door proudly hung two large pennants: the 2009 Super Bowl champions Pittsburgh Steelers and the 2009 Stanley Cup winners Pittsburgh Penguins. You have probably figured out Pat is either a sports nut or from Pittsburgh. Pat is actually a fair-weather sports enthusiast. Unless the team is in the finals, Pat pays little to no attention. Pat loves bragging rights. These pennants on the door are to aggravate and annoy a colleague down the hall, who is not a Pittsburgh fan. Back and forth they go with who is the best quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger or Kurt Warner. They try to outdo each other with slams of the other team.

I don’t think the children of Israel were concerned about sports results as they annually returned to Jerusalem while singing the songs of ascent and worship. Their living in harmony, unity, or peace is celebrated. Getting along is described as wonderful, beautiful, and pleasant.
