Romans 15:1-13

We hear a great deal about tolerance, acceptance, and diversity, seeming to induce us to swallow whatever social agenda is being pushed. If someone complains, he or she is labeled as phobic, intolerant, or bigoted. Accepting people, unconditionally loved by God, is not the same as condoning sin. We often give up and say nothing about things that contradict Christian faith and values. Acceptance is not the same as agreement with wrong.

Paul’s instruction deals with the unity of diversity–God made us all different, but loves us all the same. There is nothing we can do to make him love us more or love us less. We all come to Christ as beggars deserving nothing, but are treated like royalty.

That is why the Lord made us all unique. When we all find our place in Christ, we rejoice that we are treated so marvelously well.
