Guidance From Behind

Psalm 16
Years ago, a truck driver on a turnpike was driving a car transport loaded with eight new vehicles. He suddenly lost his vision. Beginning to weave, he realized he was a hazard to traffic coming up from behind. He frantically grabbed the CB and began to warn anyone listening in and slowly to brake his truck, endeavoring to find the shoulder. A voice from another truck driver immediately behind him began to crackle, “Take it easy!”
As the two trucks gradually slowed, the voice came again to the blinded man, “Stay calm, just stay calm. Now ease over, you’re getting near the edge. Now you are on the shoulder!” Finally, he heard the words, “You’re OK now, just shut her down.” The second truck driver immediately summoned help and a tragedy was averted.
Sometimes when we are blinded by distress, our help comes from behind us. “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isa. 30:21, NKJV).
