Take A Breath

Habakkuk 1:1-11

As a lawyer, Ed often cautions his clients that they may not receive justice at the courthouse. In far too many cases, courts are biased and juries…well? We live in a world with flawed systems. The prophet Habakkuk obviously struggled with some of the same reality and complained to the Lord that the “law is paralyzed… justice never prevails” (Hab. 1:4). He asks the question we often ask, “How long, O LORD, must I call for help?” (Hab. 1:2).

God responds. The Lord says, “I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told” (Hab. 1:5b). God then systematically lays out His intentions for the prophet.
God has done the same for us. He hears our complaints and He continues to be “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20). So, take your burdens to the Lord.
