Midnight at the Temple
August 15th, 2010
The midnight shift is on duty down at the Temple. This is a sleepy time when even the most dedicated of the servants of the Lord is tempted to take a nap. Someone across the way starts the chant that is Psalm 134, urging these overnight workers to praise the Lord, lifting their hands in worship. Their worship invigorates everyone.
It’s good to be reminded that God’s blessings aren’t just for the Temple’s midnight staff. The truth is that God loves blessing us. I don’t have to be someone special or know some secret formula to receive God’s blessings.
Long before someone authored Psalm 134, Moses explained the proper method for receiving the blessing of the Lord. He said blessings come to those who obey the Lord’s commands and love Him, walking in His ways, and holding to Him in all of life. While I don’t have the option of defining just how it is the Lord will bless me, I do know the kind of life He blesses.

Amen God’s Blessings are all around us every day. The best blessing I have from God is Christ as my personal savior and that close relationship to God. He is always there and has never ever let me down. Sure there are times that I have to wait for my prayers to be answered and the answer isn’t always what I want but God knows what’s best for me. By answering my prayers in His Time; God is helping me develop both patience and strengthening my faith. In other words my spiritual side is getting a workout .
