Don’t Forget

When I was in school, I learned the names and order of the planets by memorizing this sentence: “My Very Educated Mother Just Sold Us Nine Pickles.” The planets have changed since then, but it is still a helpful memory tool. I will leave it to you to figure out what each word stands for.
Deuteronomy 6 stresses the importance of remembering. The memory tools are not so simplistic. They are lessons we learn in life. Lessons of obedience and the love for God. How do we remember who God is and keep Him first in our lives? It’s about relationships. First, we know Him in our own hearts. We make God our priority. What is first in our lives shows in our actions and words. Second, we make God known to those with whom we have relationship. We talk about Him with our families.
If God is first in your life, make Him known to those who are important to you.
