Established in Christ

December 15th, 2022

Ephesians 3:12-21

Children are influenced by the entire community in which they are raised. They speak the language of the community, share in the culture and customs of the community, learn common behaviors, and develop shared beliefs and values. This is a natural process that occurs when a child is given the opportunity to live and interact with people in a family, community, or village.

Paul writes to the Ephesians and encourages them to become a village of believers who have been “rooted and established in love” (3:17). He reminds them that they have received love “together with all the Lord’s holy people” (3:18a). There is power in that community connection to the perfect love that comes from God.

Like Paul, I encourage you to be a part of a village of believers. Join together with those who have accepted His gift of salvation through grace and have received the Holy Spirit whose power is at work within us. Together we will be established in Christ. He “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (3:20a).
