Acts 4:5-12

Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus! He was crucified by a sinful system and world, but God raised Him from the dead! These words must be shouted from the rooftops, proclaimed in our streets, in our workplaces, our churches, and our neighborhoods! Amazingly, it took two filled with the spirit “unschooled, ordinary men” (4:13) to tell the story of what God was doing.

This new work of God was a threat to the system to which it was proclaimed, and Peter and John took a risk in being so bold. But, after being threatened to stop proclaiming this good news, they retreated to the other believers and prayed for more boldness. (4:29)

God is yearning to save the world. God yearns to save your friend, your straying child, your co-worker, your parent, your enemy, but the story of God’s salvation must be carried and told by a people who are praying for God’s boldness. The outbreak of salvation and revival in Acts does not happen without bold proclaimers and willing followers of Jesus.
