Matthew 7:13-20

Jesus asks us to embrace the narrow gate that leads to life and focus on things of Christ. That focus produces good fruit—a part of life on the narrow road. Good fruit has had time on the vine to ripen, it is sweet to the taste and it has been connected to the source of nourishment for the exact right amount of time.

Life on the broad road is filled with false prophets, destruction, and bad fruit. Bad fruit is rotten and the fragrance of rotten fruit can pollute the atmosphere of a room. Why would a broad road lead to destruction? Travelers on the broad road never have to make decisions and can be led by any suggestion.

What is your decision? You are already making one, whether you are aware of it or not. You are either connected to the source of all nourishment and producing good fruit or you are on the ground smelling up the room. Your identity is partly made up of the accumulation of your decisions. Choose the narrow road. Choose the road where you are held up by the provision of the Lord.
