Isaiah 26:1-12

Isaiah understood that God would show up and deliver. God brought peace and came as the One who is Peace: Jesus.

When my son puts on his gaming headset and takes the controller, his whole being is fixed on his video game. It takes near physical force to divert his attention. Often, like my son, we have our own headsets and controllers; our whole beings are fixed on our own agendas, expectations, and ideals. Could we be missing the God who offers true, perfect peace right in front of us, also?

It’s not easy to be a person of peace. Peacemaking is difficult and human tendency is to defend, fight, and seek revenge. Yet, peace demands humble trust. We can trust in the One who shows grace to all, even the wicked. That’s good and beautiful!

Let’s then fix our whole selves on the One who brings peace, for “the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal” (v. 4). Trust that the Lord will “establish peace for us,” though maybe not as we expected (v. 12).

Thank you Judy for the devotionals. This one in particular speaks of today’s outrageous overkill violence.
Pray folks. God does let us chose our actions. Lord be with us
