Priorities

Haggai 1:1-13

I have a friend, Miss L, who is the ultimate planner. She has two big planners that she uses to organize both her personal and professional life. Miss L spends a great deal of time to insure every detail of her overstuffed life is colorfully prioritized.

God doesn’t expect us to have day planners that look like works of art. God does expect us, though, to give some thought when creating our agendas. He wants us to put more importance on the things that bring Him glory and less on the things that don’t.

Human beings make decisions about their lives through the use of a metaphorical mental filter. If you’re anything like me, sometimes that filter works great and sometimes not so great. We must purposefully immerse ourselves in God’s Word and His Kingdom in order to keep that filter in place.

Which filter are you using? Is it one the world advertises, or is it the One who died so that we may have eternal life?

Many people do devotions in the morning. Shouldn’t the update go out the evening before or automatically during the night? You got caught up yesterday and now are already behind.
