He Is Everything

Habakkuk 3:12-19

Every morning I pass a field that is almost always full of deer.  They are so beautiful; they are strong and powerful, yet delicate and fragile at the same time. That sounds like us, don’t you think? Some days we feel totally strong and ready to conquer the world. Yet, if we’re honest, we would recognize that there are days when we feel ready to break.

It amazes me daily that God—the Sovereign Lord—is available to me. He is my strength when I’m weak. He is my joy when I’m sad. He is my hope when I’m hopeless. I call on Him daily to be all the things I cannot be and to help me recognize that I was never designed to be those things in the first place.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy amongst the beloved is to not understand that simple truth: God is and has everything that we need. Why would we ever turn to any other source?

Today, would you pray and ask God to help you recognize when you are trying to be something you were not created to be? Let the Sovereign Lord be your everything.
