God Chose You!

John 15:9-17
I have many friends who have grown their family through adoption; some have adopted internationally, others through the foster system. I remember many years ago when my close friends revealed they were starting this process. The church family began praying alongside them for this child. If you’ve ever been a part of this process you know the ups and downs of this journey. Two years later a beautiful 9-month-old girl accompanied her new parents on a trip across the world to meet excited family and friends.
There is one part of this story that still amazes me. My friends began looking for this child, praying for this child, over a year before she was even born. In some ways, they chose this child, fell in love with this child, before she even existed.
Regardless of how others view us, regardless of how we view ourselves, remember—God chose us. Even more than my friends love their daughter, God loves us. If we really believe that God chose us, how does that change our life today?
