1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Skip’s first wife died of cancer and later his second wife was diagnosed with the same type of cancer. Just a few months before his second wife died, he discovered she had gambled away all his life savings and retirement. There was nothing left. She had kept this hidden from him. In anger, Skip could have dismissed her to die alone, but he did the opposite. He forgave her. Out of the love in his heart, he marked her debt to him paid in full and she died in peace.

Love does not demand its own way. Love is patient. Love carries no strings or conditions. Love is kind. All the descriptions of what love is, is what God is to us. God is patient. God is kind. The question is, could we replace the word “love” with our own name? Jesus could. It is only with the help of God and the love of God pouring through us, that we could also. Take a moment and write out this Scripture using your name and ask God to make God’s love shine through your life.
