The Giver of Life

Acts 17:16-31
The people of Athens had many gods and idols they worshipped and served. The same can be said for many in our world today. While we might not have a specific graven image that we bow down and pray to, many of us allow idols to get a foothold in our lives. Before we know it, we have traded our time with God for other things. We find ourselves so busy that we feel like we just don’t have time to add God to our lives. Unfortunately, the truth is that we find the time for the things that mean the most to us.
This reality is hard. Many things in life are fun and can even benefit us in positive ways. However, they are not more important than God. Given time, these things can become our idols. They take over our lives. We must realize is that God Almighty is the only giver of life. In fact, everything that we have is from God and we are called to be thankful for it.
