Grace: A Gift from God

Ephesians 2:1-10
I tell my kids there is nothing they could do to make me love them more and there is nothing they could do to make me love them less. I just love them. They have my free and unmerited favor—grace. Just like my kids, we have free and unmerited favor with God. God loves us no matter what.
God loves us! God chooses us . . . no matter what. He chooses us, just as we are, believing that we will reflect His image. There isn’t one thing in the whole world that any of us could do to make Him love us more or less. Because of grace, God gives us the gift of salvation, which is truly the ultimate gift. You can’t earn it, you can’t buy it, you can’t borrow it. There is no checklist, there are no hoops to jump through, there is no litmus test. All we have to do is accept the gift from the Giver. The gifts that I enjoy the most are those I can share with others. Let us reflect God’s image of love and share the ultimate gift with those around us.
