Serving In God’s Strength

1 Timothy 1:8-17
No matter who we once were, now as followers of Jesus Christ, God has called us into service. God works in and through all of us to bring God’s kingdom into this world. We are the hands through which God touches the people in our lives. We are the feet through which the Gospel enters into the places we go each day. With our voice, God’s words of love, kindness, and grace are spoken to the broken, hurting people we come in contact with each day.
However, we can’t touch, move, or speak on our own. We are not strong enough to bear that burden through our own strength and with our own means. We must rely on God in all things, to allow Christ to touch our world through us, to allow God to move us in the ways we should go, and to allow the Jesus’s words to be the very words that come out of our mouths. Through God’s strength alone we are able to be bearers of God’s kingdom in this world. When we see God at work, we can be thankful for God’s strength made manifest through us.
