It is hard to imagine anything we can give God. After all, “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1). But there are things we can give, things God wants and are within our power to give.
- Praise: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that openly profess his name” (Hebrews 13:15).
- A teachable spirit: “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground” (Psalm 143:10).
- Obedience: “But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them” (1 John 2:5a).
- Trust: “In God, whose word I praise–in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalm 56:4).
What can we give to God today? “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad” (118:22-24).
