Titus 3:1-8

Sometimes it is easy to view the Christian life as a solo experience. It’s not all too difficult to become overly focused on our own walk and forget about our brothers and sisters in Christ. Even more so, we often forget how our actions impact those around us. When we choose not to love our neighbor, the world takes note. When we choose not to care for the widow, the orphan, and the alien, the world notices. We are reminded by the words of Jesus that as His disciples, we are the “light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). Even when we don’t fully realize it, the world is watching us (the church). The world sees when we hide the light and when we don’t devote ourselves to doing what is good. When we shine our light, by trusting in God and devoting ourselves to doing what is good, the world sees the one and true Light, King Jesus, in our lives. Decide today to relentlessly trust in Jesus and devote to doing what is good–by the propelling power of the Holy Spirit–so that our God’s name might be glorified in you.
