Romans 10:1-13

A prominent Pharisee came to Jesus with an unspoken question: “How does one enter the kingdom of God?” (John 3:1-8). A wealthy young man asked, “What good thing must I do to get eternal life?” (Matthew 19:16). A Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, “What must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:29). They might have all asked, “How can I be right with God?”

The problem of sin is not just a broken law, but a broken relationship. If we forget to renew our driver’s license, we make it by right by paying a fine. That’s the way the law works. If we have hurt someone by thoughtless words we can make it right by a sincere apology, seeking forgiveness, and expressing love. That is the way of grace.

We are not justified by any good thing we do, but by believing in Jesus. We accept His saving death and victorious resurrection. We receive His grace and are made right with God. Then we tell others in order that they may know Him too.
