One Sunday Night

Psalm 79:1-13
There we were one Sunday night at church moving through discussion on living the Lord’s Prayer. We had come to the section on forgiving our debts as we forgive our debtors. I opened our discussion with a quote by Lewis Smedes, “Forgiveness is the key to the entire Christian agenda.”
As we explored forgiveness, one dear brother in the Lord spoke up concerning his 15-year journey through unforgivingness to forgiveness. Another spoke, and then another. More teaching and soon others spoke about their journey to forgiveness. As we entered into our time of prayer I restated the question. I asked if anyone would like to simply drop their load of unforgiving attitudes. I invited them to just get up and come forward and we’d pray about it. Four precious souls came forward that night and unloaded a significant load of unforgivingness and hurt.
Smedes is right; forgiveness is the key to the Christian agenda. He can also help you to share forgiveness with another. Wouldn’t this be a good time to pray about both?
