Timeless Faithfulness

Deuteronomy 26:1-11
Our lives are too short to fully see how good and faithful God is. He is the Creator who long ago established day and night, the round of seasons, sun and rain, and the fruitful earth. How many of his amazing gifts we take for granted!
He is also the Lord of all history. He causes nations to rise and fall. We are here long enough to trace a few brief events. He paints on canvas that extends beyond human history. Could we see his canvas, we would gasp at his goodness and his gracious mercy. We would see his loving purposes at work in ways we could never imagine. Your faithfulness continues through all generations (Ps. 119:90a).
This is why seasonal celebrations are so important. We need to connect with our past. It is vital that we frail, temporary creatures remember and rehearse God’s goodness. We must also take every opportunity to expose our children and grandchildren to God’s timeless faithfulness.
Look to the past and glimpse a bit more of God’s canvas. It will help you face the future with joyful confidence in our unfailing, unchanging God.
