Psalm 119:1-8
Read your Bible every day. Do you want to stay established in God’s decrees?
Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
In Hebrews 4:13, it says that all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Matthew Henry says that the Bible makes people “willing to undergo the sharpest operation for the mortifying of sin” (Matthew Henry Commentary).
Just as the priest would examine the lamb for sacrifice by cutting into its flesh from the backbone up to the neck, so the Word of God judges the intentions of our hearts and not only sees what is there but is able to remove any hypocrisy.
