The Alarms Are Sounding

September 23rd, 2010

Genesis 7:1-12

The blaring alarm of a weather alert radio shatters the inky darkness of sleep. Up-to-date information regarding the latest storm is sent across the airwaves. Modern radar is able to detect motion within clouds that allows for earlier warning regarding storms and their hidden dangers.

However, it seems that after every major storm, there are those who have been injured, those who refused to seek shelter. Sometimes they are not so lucky. They have not just been injured, but they have lost their lives.
God was Noah’s early warning system. He told Noah and his family when it was time to enter the ark. Noah heeded that warning and took shelter. The result: he and his entire family were saved. We live in a day and age when the storms of life are raging around us. God is our early warning system as well. Unfortunately we often ignore his alert signals. Slow down, listen to the Lord, and seek His shelter during the storm.

I like the web podcast version of reading my daily devotional. But i do miss the verses of song that are in the print version, along with the special quotes. Could you please include them in the online version? Thanks.

Hi Mike, thanks for the comment!

ReflectingGod.com is not intended to replace the print version of Reflecting God. The intent is to gain a following among young people that wouldn’t normally buy print devotionals. The print version remains available for less than $2.00 a quarter:

it is still a fantastic deal considering similar devotional prices.
