Genesis 6:5-10

In the mid 1990s, the McDonald’s in downtown Moscow was the busiest McDonald’s in the world. Over 40,000 customers visited this McDonald’s every day. The restaurant boasted 25 registers, but these were not enough for the overwhelming crowds wanting to eat a hamburger. Once reaching the doors, there was a single purpose, to reach the register where one could place an order. The chaotic scene continued as hundreds crushed toward the counter. In the midst of the bedlam, the cashiers raised their hands while calling out, “Free cashier!” They were single-minded and focused.

Humanity was created in the image of God, and as we allow His image to grow and develop in us, as we are single-minded, God finds favor in us. In the days of Noah, the people became single-minded in their self-centeredness. Whatever occupies center stage in our lives will determine the way in which we live our lives.
