The song, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” was first heard in a 1971 Coca-Cola commercial. Featuring young people from around the world singing on a hilltop in Rome, the advertisement was so popular that the song became one of the 100 best-selling singles of all time.

David encourages us to sing songs of praise to the Father. Perfect pitch, range, or the ability to read music isn’t important to God. Sincerity always trumps skill. Any and all songs of praise are pleasing to the Lord’s ears, providing a welcomed pathway into His presence.

This commercial, a worldwide favorite, helped Coca-Cola regain its status as the most popular soft drink in North America. If a song can do that for a bottle of soda pop, just think what can happen when we gratefully sing to our Lord and Savior.
