No question! Chuck clearly found the Lord. Talking behind locked doors in his cell, his faith overflowed. Then the third visit, with fear, he said, “The desire for drugs is coming back.”
I said, “Chuck, remember 1 Corinthians 10:13: ‘God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out . . .’ Before I came to Christ, sins controlled me. When Christ came into my heart, power came within. In my worst temptation, not once have I returned to that sin. He can do it for you!”
Surprised for a second, Chuck then literally yelled, “Yeah, I can make it!” When heart belief in Christ as resurrected Lord becomes the means of salvation, faith makes a connection with spiritual power that law never does.
