Messiah’s Dominion Assured

Daniel 7:8-14
When we read Daniel 7, we cannot help but think forward to the idea of Messiah! Specifically, we look from the passage in Daniel to Ephesians 1:20-22 and Philippians 2:9-11. Our hearts and minds as believers long for the day when all things will become new and every foe to Christ’s kingdom will be stripped of their power and Messiah’s dominion set for eternal reign.
The Daniel passage helps us see that the word “authority” translates to “dominion” and dominion, or the divine right to rule, is stripped from the beasts and given to another. The other in our passage is indeed “the son of man” and “the saints” (v. 27).
The powers and principalities of this world and the world of darkness will ultimately be stripped of dominion, and the forever dominion of Messiah set to never be exchanged again. We have this hope in our Messiah, Jesus Christ!
