Interesting Stories

July 20th, 2024

Revelation 1:12-18

Schoolchildren learn that every good story has a beginning, a middle, and an end. They learn all the fancy terms for the main characters (both good and not-so-good). They learn how to bring those characters to life through the use of vivid, detailed descriptions. They learn about how a good plot is integral to a good story. They learn that details are important and how to use them to flavor the storyline.

As Christ-followers, we, too, have a story. Jesus Christ is our beginning, middle, and end. He allows characters (both good and not-so-good) to participate in our stories that are dynamic and exciting. Each of our stories each has an interesting plot and because of Christ’s work on the cross, we can look forward to a fantastic outcome. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us through the details, giving us comfort and counsel. The uniqueness of the details makes the stories truly ours, reflecting the power and glory of our most holy God.

Our God is holy, and in Him, we do not have to fear.
