Frequently Gather
April 3rd, 2026
Romans 15:1-9.
There’s an old children’s song that goes like this: “The more we get together, together, together. The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.” The song suggests that frequent gatherings strengthen our relationships.
I think if this song had been around when Paul wrote his letter to the Romans, he would have hummed it to himself as he penned parts of chapter 15: “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (vv. 5-6). Christ-followers bring glory and praise to the Father when they gather in His name.
Attendance tends to be higher on Easter Sunday than at other times. While attending church is important on this occasion, fellowship with other believers, while not essential to salvation, makes us better Christ-followers.
Whom do you know who could use an invitation to return to church, not just on Easter, but on the Sundays following? If you’re the one who needs to get back in the habit of weekly fellowship, Easter is a great time to start!
