Christ-Centered Attitude

Romans 12:9-16.

What does genuine love look like?

Paul challenges us to out-love each other. It makes me think of those prank TV shows where a group of friends tries to out-prank each other, each caper growing more and more outlandish.

Could you love your neighbor in an outlandish way? What would that look like? How would it make you feel to know that you have shown so much love to your neighbor that their lives were changed? Have you received that kind of love in return?

The challenge is clear but overlooked. The world desperately needs this love, and the church desperately needs to offer it. Yet today’s overbooked, overstimulated world drains us. We come home from work or school or life and are completely overwhelmed, unable to meet anyone else’s needs but our own.

Let’s change that! Let’s challenge ourselves to live loved and to love others in return. To live loved means to allow your heavenly Father to fill you to overflowing on a daily basis, and to let that overflow spill into the lives of others. Don’t live overwhelmed. Instead, live overflowing with love.
