Confidence in Suffering

March 6th, 2026

Hebrews 10:32-39.

Do you recall when you first learned about Jesus? Do you remember how you tried your best to be faithful, though at times it was a struggle? Perhaps you were even ridiculed by your friends, maybe even your family.

I grew up in church, but as a teenager wandered away. Four years later, I returned, eventually to an altar of prayer. With several supportive men gathered around me on a Sunday night, I gave my heart to Jesus and was gloriously saved.

All was great those first few months. I learned how to pray, read my Bible, tithe, and serve in my church. Then, I began to go through periods of spiritual struggles. The writer to the Hebrews refers to this as “suffering” (v. 32). I was living from Sunday to Sunday, revival to revival. Three years after my salvation, I finally came to Jesus a second time and surrendered my everything. That’s when I was sanctified wholly, filled with the Holy Spirit.

I’m grateful, however, that throughout my times of difficulty, I remained confident in my faith. Could that be where you are today? Don’t ever stop seeking Him.
