Sustain Me by Your Word
December 4th, 2025
Isaiah 50:1-7.
Our words and actions have power. Words have the power to build up and sustain or the power to tear down and deplete. We are to follow Christ and to be an example of Christ. One of the ways we can do that is by having a well-instructed tongue. How do we have a well-instructed tongue? We do that by daily being transformed into Christ’s image. We do that by reading and memorizing Scripture so that we are sustained and can help to sustain the weary.
In a world where gossip, negativity, and accusations rule the day, be an example of Christ by having a well-instructed tongue. Use God’s Word to sustain and uplift the weary. It might be as simple as asking how someone is doing and listening to the answer. Or it may be sharing how God has been faithful in your life with someone who is walking through something similar to you.
Today, pray and ask God to show you those around you who are weary. Ask God to give you the words to speak and the listening ear needed to help sustain them and point them to Christ.
