Gifts That Keep on Giving
November 9th, 2025
Psalm 127:1-5.
With this session, we circle back to that old idea of the tabula rasa, that white sheet of paper on which we can envision the ever-arriving future. As our scripture reference suggests, the building blocks of the future are cut from the quarry of heritage.
If the future is built from the legacy of heritage, can there be any more valuable commodity than our children? If we consider them “a heritage from the LORD” our task is significant. While they are gifts from the Lord, they are also products of our intentional efforts to lead them to an embrace of Jesus and all that He taught.
Transferring to our children the virtues of godliness takes prayerful, skillful intersections with the elements and components of their lives. We must become a representative instance of what we profess to believe. We must be patterns worthy of imitation. We must become an instance of illustration, vividly revealing and demonstrating real-time, real-life examples of grace.
