Are You Ready to Worship?

Revelation 21:1-8.   

I currently live in a different part of my country than where I used to live. The area around me isn’t hugely different from my previous location in many ways, but these two places are far enough apart that they both have their own unique characteristics. One of these is the national-level sports teams that people identify with and cheer for. Each locale has a team, and most people in each place root for the team closest to them.

Recently, I’ve noticed more and more people in my current location rooting for the team from my previous location. Why were these people cheering for this other team? Soon it became clear: The quarterback for that team was the reason they were fans.

Our relationship with God does not depend on our location. We can live anywhere on this planet and be in a relationship with God. God’s cheering section isn’t limited to a place. Nor is it limited to a time: God is eternal and our time spent worshiping Him will be eternal also.

Take a look at your present time and location and reflect on how that will translate into being in the presence of the eternal God. Are you ready to worship?
