Who Created This?

Acts 17:22-30.

During my time studying English and literature at Olivet Nazarene University, my professors taught me a variety of lessons. I am convinced that what a person experiences, believes, and learns is intertwined with what he or she creates. During my university days, that pertained to authors and their writings. In the years since, I’ve learned that this can be applied outside of literature.

How often do we see a situation before us and assume we know the motivations in the hearts and minds of those involved? We cannot see all that is happening in the background. We cannot always know what they have been through before today. Understanding this can help us understand better who those others are.

The same is true for God. If we want to better understand our relationship with God and with those around us, we need to dig deep into who God is. God is, according to today’s passage, Creator of our world and the people in it. Knowing that, we can approach each person in our lives (especially the ones we need extra grace for) and know that God created him or her, just as God created us.
