Prove It!

October 29th, 2025

Deuteronomy 4:32-40.

Think back to the schoolyard playground of your youth. Undoubtedly there were children running around, playing various games, bunched in groups, forming different social circles. Games were won and lost. Friendships were formed or dissolved. Power was found or misplaced. More than once, these schoolyard struggles were punctuated with the command: Prove it!

Someone makes a claim, and the audience wants to see the proof that makes that claim valid. The adage, “The proof is in the pudding,” teaches us that we can know what something is by experiencing it. The original phrase was, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating”; to determine if the pudding was safe (or good) to eat, you ate it.

We can know that God is Creator, Benefactor, Redeemer, and Giver by experiencing God. The proof of these things and more is in the experience we have with God, but also the experiences those before us and around us have with God. God is the proof we need. We simply need to taste and see that the Lord is good!

Take a moment today to experience the grace and love of God.

What is first in your life?
