Leading as a Means of Grace
September 20th, 2025
2 Timothy 2:1-10.
If you’ve spent much time reading in the New Testament book of Acts, you will recognize how appropriate was Paul’s use of the word, “endure.” His life was much more than an “adventure.” It was at times harrowing! Yet, it wasn’t just the “harrowing” times that endorsed Paul’s leadership.
Paul’s leadership sets an example for us as we perform the tasks assigned to us as leaders in the body of Christ. His leadership and ours must be purposeful. As leaders, like Paul, we too are looking for results. We are team-driven, focusing on shoulder-to-shoulder and heart-to-heart relationships that encourage and empower others in their pursuit of Christ.
Our leadership does not happen in a vacuum. It occurs within a community. Neither is our leadership a solo performance. Our empowerment to leadership rests with the Spirit within.
Welcome to a community where leadership is not a goal, it is sacramental (a means of grace for all). As we lead, we follow Christ, not as heroes-of-the-faith in the making, but as ordinary people experiencing a means of grace to enrich our embrace and worship of Jesus.
