Follow Jesus

September 13th, 2025

Ephesians 2:11-18.

Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection marked a new era in the world. No longer is our relationship with God contingent on sacrifice of animals and requiring a priestly mediator. Instead, because of the perfect and final sacrifice of Christ, we can do away with holiness governed by laws. We are free to worship and engage with God in the ways that are natural to us and pleasing to the Lord.

Additionally, with Christ’s sacrifice, we are not divided into those who are allowed into the kingdom of God and those who are not. There is equal opportunity for all who believe. It does not matter how many of the rules we memorize or don’t memorize, how many sacrifices we make, how much we abide by the strict rules of religion. Our faith is not defined by what religion we are born into, but rather if we choose to follow Jesus.

Now, Christ has made peace between us and made perfect the relationship with God.

The authors should see the pattern the Our Daily Bread devotional booklet uses:
1. A related illustration 2. Then the Scriptural connectivity
3. The application of the Scriptural truth in the life of the believer.
