How Can You…Unless Sent?

August 28th, 2025

Romans 10:8-15.

Are your feet beautiful? You may not think so. Perhaps your toes are deformed, or you are missing a toe, or something else is different. Perhaps from birth or an accident you have no feet. So you might say, “Romans 10:15 doesn’t apply to me.”

Paul is quoting Isaiah 52:7, in which the content of the “good news” that the one with “beautiful feet” bears is “peace,” “good tidings,” “salvation,” and that “God reigns!” “Feet” is metaphorical, however. Feet speaks of all bearers of God’s good news.

Luke records that on the evening of His resurrection, Jesus appeared to a group of disciples assembled in Jerusalem. After giving them evidence that it was really He—alive!—He gave them the content of the good news to which they, and all Jesus-followers, were to be witnesses, “that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations” (Luke 24:47-48).

Jesus is calling you and me to either send bearers of good news—His “feet”—to the nations with our financial and prayer support, or to respond to His call to be His “feet,” taking the good news to the nations.
