Accept One Another
August 16th, 2025
Romans 15:1-7.
Most of us have friends from various circles, like work friends, school friends, and church friends. Regardless of where your friends are from, the command in verse 7 to “accept one another” doesn’t seem too difficult. After all, we like our friends because we have things in common with them, so of course we accept them.
Read those words again: “Accept one another” (emphasis added). Paul wasn’t just talking about our friends; he was talking about everyone. Just as Christ receives all who believe, we as Christians must show love to all. Non-believers must know that we as believers value how they have been created in the image of God, while not pre-judging them for what may be ungodly lifestyles. Acceptance is modeled by Jesus in His interactions as He moved among people outside the faith community.
Think about it: As believers, we are constantly being watched by the world. If the world watches Christians reject people because of differences, why would they ever want to be like us? Let’s praise God by accepting one another just as He accepted us!
